Deep Tissue – Massage affecting the sublayer of musculature and
fascia. Relieves chronic muscle pain, helps release toxins, focus on specific areas of tension and
injury rehabilitation. This style of massage uses slow strokes and deep finger pressure.
Sports – Helps alleviate stress and tension in muscles due to physical
activity. Also, prepares individual for peak performance by draining away fatigue, relieving
swelling, reducing muscle tension, promoting flexibility and preventing injuries. Helps maintain

Swedish – Massage of the soft tissues of the body to increase
circulation. Increases relaxation, range of motion, circulation and healing, relieving minor aches
and pains. This style of massage uses kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive and tapping
movements.
Thai – Practiced in Thailand for over 2000 years, this massage is done
on a mat on the floor with the recipient fully clothed. Comfortable clothing is recommended. It
promotes flexibility, body-centered movement, and balanced energy. This style of massage combines
firm pressure on energy points with muscle stretching.
Acupressure – An ancient healing art that uses gentle but firm
pressure on key points to stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. Releases muscular
tension and promotes circulation of blood and energy.
Orthopedic – Integrates diverse techniques such as trigger point
therapy, deep transverse friction, myofascial approaches and muscle energy techniques to reduce soft
tissue dysfunctions. Helps in dealing with aching back, stress, tension headaches, injury
rehabilitation, pain management and range of motion.
Madelein Schuster – a Connecticut licensed and nationally certified
massage therapist. She is a teacher of massage at Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT). Madelein's
original massage training was through apprenticeship with Dr. H.J. Reilly (1976-1985). She went on
to study at CCMT (1985-1987). Madelein has studied Thai Massage with Maxine Shapiro, Rick Haesche
and Bernadette Della Bitta.
Pam Mason – a Connecticut licensed and nationally certified massage
therapist. Pam graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy. She has studied Reiki and
Acupressure. Pam integrates energy work into Swedish massage along with deep tissue work.
Eugene Borshchenko – a Connecticut and New York licensed and
nationally certified massage therapist. Eugene graduated from the clinical massage therapy program
at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Westport.
